Pohela Boishakh is the first day of Bangla calendar and celebrate it a huge manner. Every Bangladeshi participant in different cultural activities in Ramna Botamul (under the banyan tree of Ramna) such as “Mongol Subhajatra” (auspicious rally) of charukola (fine art’s institute of Dhaka University) and act of eating panta with hilsha fish and os on.
Student of Charukola being their preparation one month ago before Boishakh. They prepare for “Mongol Shobhajatra”. Make dummy of Elephant, Owl, Crocodile, Horse, Doll including musk etc.
They arrange “Chaitra Shonkrantry” in the end of the old year. And organize musical program as well as Jatra. All these are centered to the hope of a new year which will bring new peace and happiness. It’s not only their belief also a dream of every Bangladeshi.
